Nowadays almost everyone has a cell phone. Unless you are that very rare type of cell customer, you probably don't have the very first one you originally got.....right?
Well, everyday thousands of people upgrade their cell phones and are "stuck" with the old ones. What to do? Most people either give them to a friend in need or simply toss them out. Maybe they hang on to it as a spare? If you have little ones like me, your old phone becomes the kids "new" play phone!
Selling cell phones on eBay is a growing market.
This "vintage" brick analog phone sold for $49.99 on eBay!
This PDA was broken - the screen would freeze up and shut the phone completely off at least once a day.
It sold on eBay for $150
Here is a Samsung that was submerged in water, and when it was turned on the screen was jibberish and it make weird noises a phone should not make!

Sold on eBay for $110
Now here is the question - Why would anyone want broken cell phones? And to second that why would they pay so much for them? Well, truth is there's people in this world who LIVE to repair electronics. A large majority of them are college aged kids who buy up these "broken" cell phones and sell them for a profit once they are fixed (probably on eBay). There are entire companies that specialize in this kind of thing.
I would want to mention here that if you are selling your old phone I would take out the SIM card (little plastic thing under the battery) it is what holds all your phone numbers and such. Just me, though.
People will sell their old cell phones at garage sales for like $5 each - and I simply scoop them up! After I have a few I sell them as a lot - which is even more attractive to these techie fixer upers! I also have a group of friends and family that know as soon as they upgrade to call me and I will buy them from them (I never pay more than $20, usually $10-$15) - which is easy cash for something they would throw away!
And (shhhhh...) even easier money for me!
