I am going with Books because it is what surprised my the most when I first started selling on eBay....the profit margin is AMAZING! Often times you can make 100 times or even 1000 times what you paid!
How many times have you passed by that book section of your local thrift and thought....ugh....no thanks???
Books are often overlooked as a money maker on eBay. Thrift stores are an excellent source to find books that are probably priced at a dollar or less. My local thrift offers 5 books for a dollar and the other thrifts I frequent are usually 10 cents to 50 cents at the most! that to the average shopper seem worthless, but if you take your time and do a little research that small investment can pay off BIG!
Check out these links below.....
Remember those Little Golden Books?
How about Cat in the Hat?
obviously you will first want to look on eBay to get an idea of what is HOT right now. You can do an Advanced Search for, oh let's just type BOOKS and check off Completed Listings and sort your results by Highest First. This will give you a LONG list of the listings that are completed on eBay and you can see which ones sold for which amounts.
Better yet, check out this thread:
A Book that Looks like Nothing
Basically this thread has been on EBay's Booksellers Discussion Board since 2003!! Yes, that is right over 3 years! The information there is invaluable! If you are not overwhelmed by that information on the link above, here are a few sites to help you get started with your research:

eBay About Me pages....do you look????
Somtimes I look at the about me page of a seller longer than the actual auction.
I guess it is just interesting to see what people are all about or what they are in to...kinda like blogging, I guess!
I thought it would be fun to post some of the most unique and interesting "About Me" pages that I have seen. You are sure to laugh a little and maybe even learn something new!
Here you go!
